Hazel Atlas Meets Bob Van Allen

A match made in Heaven if I say so myself!

Hazel Atlas Platonite dishes were made in many fired-on colors,
in both the Ovide and Moderntone shapes.  So many, that I can always
find 2 or 3 colors to mix-and-match that compliment my  vintage tablecloths.

This tablecloth was manufactured by Fallani & Cohn and designed
by Bob Van Allen in the 1970's, but I think it looks great with my
1940's Hazel Atlas.

His designs are easy to identify because his tablecloths, and even
the napkins, are signed.  He designed textiles and china from the
1960's until he died in 1983.

The candlestick holders are not Hazel Atlas, but are so
complimentary.  Made by Anchor Hocking, Oyster & Pearl pattern.

Lets not forget the coffee!

It's been far too long since I've done a tablescape
and I have too many tablecloths to enjoy and share.

Did you "get your spring on" yet?

This week I'll be joining in:

  11. Every time I visit your blog, Pam, I get all nostalgic and misty-eyed. So many of the beautiful things you own remind me of a childhood that were filled with many similar items. They remind me of my great-Grandmother who enjoyed lovely, bright, beautiful things around her despite being a decidedly dour woman herself. They remind me of my Mom's stepmother who kept an impeccable home that was OH SO stylish in the 1960s. (Almost Rat Pack-style!) They remind me of my Mom admiring these things, buying them, and then never using them. They too often just sat in a closet or cabinet because my Mom was a "career woman" who only had time to entertain every once in awhile. They remind me of my Aunt Rhae who was Lena Horne beautiful and wore pancake makeup that always smelled so good. Her home was one of refined taste, but she always made kids feel welcome and gave us Wonder bread. (Weird, I know...but I liked Wonder bread!!!) All different memories, but GREAT memories just the same. That's what your blog brings to the forefront of my mind, and I love it! Thank you for bringing those moments of joy into my silly little life! It's always a pleasure!

  22. You never cease to amaze me with your beautiful & creative tablescapes! I really should switch mine out a little more often too. Although, they do look really pretty stacked in an old pink metal basket in my bedroom!

That tablecloth is perfectly spring-y and reminds me a lot of Vera. And I always enjoy seeing your Hazel Atlas because I don't (yet) have any of my own.

    Have a wonderful weekend,

    Erica
