Apple Harvest Time in VA!

We went to the top of Carter's Mountain in Charlottesville, VA.  It's apple harvest month.  Pick your own or buy them just picked.  We were amazed at how many folks were there, but soon found out why.  There was a haywagon for rides, a blue grass band was playing, good food being sold, a store with jams, cider, wine, pies, apple cider donuts and of course the star~apples!

My centerpiece bowl holds Jonagold, Mutsu Crispin, Golden Delicious, Stayman and Gala.  There were more varieties to choose from.

The apple groves on the side of the mountain are a gorgeous sight, as are the vineyards.

We didn't realize how crowded a mountain top could get!  The line of cars coming in snaked down the mountain all the way to the main road where police were directing traffic.

Gorgeous apple tablecloth with blue enameled bowl from Denmark and depression glass candleholders.

Here's a close-up so you can see the detail in the apple tablecloth, beautiful!

Hope you enjoyed it!

  1. Pam! That looks so fun! What a gorgeous day you had. I love that tablecloth. I have it in a different colorway. I like how you matched the bowl and the candles almost exactly!
